We are excited to introduce our newest resource: an annotated bibliography on play! This resource was developed for the US Play Coalition by Carly Summers, a Clemson University Graduate Student.
This work reviews a variety of play outlets from recent literature on preschool play outcomes
to animal play behavior, from TED talks to policy briefings, from magazine articles to toy guides,
and more. Like our membership, authors of these articles come from diverse backgrounds — this
further reflects the interdisciplinary and universal nature of play.
Many of these resources are available on the web and we encourage you to use this
document to jumpstart your own research on play! We also hope to continue to grow this
resource, so if you find applicable research you feel should be included, please send it to
fmainel@clemson.edu.
